Perfect travelling outfit

Hallo meine Lieben,
die Reisezeit beginnt wieder und auch Mister Curvy und ich fahren demnächst in Urlaub. Zusammen mit sehr guten Freunden planen wir einen kleinen Roadtrip nach Kroatien. Ich freue mich schon sehr, aber wie vor jeder Reise, frage ich mich, was ziehe ich an während der langen Fahrt? Dies ist mein diesjähriges Outfit. Bequem und trotzdem mit style!

Jump up, Jump up and get down!

Hallo meine Lieben,
im Moment fühle ich mich ein bisschen wie der Titel des Liedes: "Jump up, jump up and get down". Ich habe viele tolle, aufregende Projekt sowohl beruflich als auch für den Blog. Und springe zwischen allem hin und her. Nach Abschluss eines "Projekts" schnaufe ich erst mal durch, schlafe viel und dann suche ich mir sofort ein Neues. Sonst habe ich ein komisches Gefühl, fühlt sich an wie Hinfallen ohne Aufzustehen.

right at this time I sometimes feel kind of like in the song: "Jump up, jump up and get down!". I've got plenty of great and exciting project job-related as well as blog-related. And I kind of jump around between those the whole time. After successfully finishing one project, I breathe deeply, sleep a lot and then searching for a new one to finish. Not doing so feels strange, like falling down without getting up again.

River Island, my Kryptonite!

Hallo Ihr Lieben,
gestern Nacht überkam mich wieder dieses Kribbeln in den Fingern. Kennt Ihr das, Ihr legt alle Sachen, die Ihr schön findet, in den Warenkorb, nur um nachher festzustellen, dass es viel zu teuer ist und um ihn anschließend komplett wieder zu löschen. Das ging mir bei diesen Sachen ungefähr 4-mal so, in der letzten Woche. Das ist so ähnlich, wie wenn wir Frauen (mich eingeschlossen) in Zeitschriften diese Fragebögen "Wer bin ich? Was erwarte ich vom Leben? Bin ich bereit für ein Baby?" beantworten. Erst werden überall Kreuzchen gemacht, anschließend das unbefriedigende Ergebnis gelesen und dann ändern wir vorne einfach die Kreuzchen, sodass der Typ Frau rauskommt, für den wir uns eigentlich halten. Meine Lektion bzw. Botschaft von diesem ganzen Geschreibe ist im Prinzip, dass ich mich die ganze letzte Woche selbst verarscht habe. So wie mir mein Ergebnis in diesen Tests vorher klar ist, das ich aber nicht unbedingt hören will, war mir auch klar, dass ich mir diese Sachen früher oder später, ob nun in einer oder in zwei seperaten Bestellungen bestellen werde. Welche Shops machen euch ein bisschen unzurechnungsfähig?

do you know this itching to order clothes? You are placing countless beautiful pieces in your online shopping card, just to determine afterwards, that your order would be way to expensive and to delete your whole shopping card again. I have been there the last week for about four times with an order with River Island. Kind of simular to that, is the behavior of women (me included) while  answering one of this surveys in women's magazines like: "What's my real nature? What do I expect from life? Am I prepared for becoming a good mom?" First of all we are making everywhere our little crosses and answering this survey, afterwards we read the unsatisfactory result and then we start allover again and change all of our answers/crosses we made before. Basically my lesson and message of writing all of this is, that I was brain fucking myself the whole last week. Just like I know that the unsatisfactory results of this surveys are probably true, I also knew right from the start that I'm gonna order this clothes someway someday. Which shops make you kind of mentally incompetent?

SWAG - Secretly we are gay

Hallo meine Lieben,
ich musste so lachen, als mir zu einem meiner letzten Posts eine Leserin schrieb, das sie immer dachte das SWAG die Abkürzung für "Secretly we are gay" ist. Einmal schnell gegoogelt und es stimmt, es war ursprünglich ein Begriff aus der Schwulen-und Lesben-Szene der 1960er Jahre und des Weiteren steht die Abkürzung auch für "She wants a gentleman".

Zwei Sachen finde ich daran so witzig! Erstens: ist es doch echt erstaunlich, was wir alles so für Botschaften tragen oder auch Texte im Radio mitsingen, die uns gar nicht so bewusst sind. Und zweitens: Ich freue mir ein zweites Loch in den Ars..., dass all die kleinen intoleranten Möchtegerne-Bushido's, jetzt Kleidung oder Lieder mit der Botschaft SWAG in die Welt tragen, ohne wahrscheinlich wirklich zu wissen, wofür es mal stand. Das ist glaub ich, das erste Mal, dass aus vollkommener Unwissenheit nicht noch mehr Intoleranz entsteht. Ich finde es einfach super und witzig, denn wenn es etwas gibt worauf ich intolerant reagiere, dann ist es Intoleranz und Ungerechtigkeit.

I laughed my head off, when one of my lovely readers comment on one of my previous posts, that she always thought that SWAG is the shortcut for "Secretly we are gay". I immediately googled it and it's true it is a term from the gay scene of the 1960's and in addition also the shortcut for "She wants a gentleman!".

Two things about that really killed me! First of all, it's kind of surprisingly, what messages we are wearing or singing through song lyrics every day without being aware of it all the time. Secondly and even more funny to me is, that all this intolerant "Wannabe-Bad-Boy" are wearing the SWAG message, without knowing.
I think, that is the first time that perfect ignorance doesn't create even more or greater intolerance.

Plus Size Outfit Day | My stylish work outfit

Hallo Ihr Lieben,
es ist mal wieder der letzte Montag im Monat und das heißt Plussize Outfit Day. Oh man, wie die Zeit verfliegt! Diesen Monat ist das Thema "mein stylisches Arbeitsoutfit" und ich muss sagen, dieses Thema ist mir irgendwie total schwer gefallen, weil ich eigentlich fast alles, was ich hier im Blog trage, auch auf der Arbeit anziehe. Ich arbeite im Marketing und bin verantwortlich für das Corporate Design der Firma. Das ist ein eher kreativer Beruf und ich bin froh, dass ich weitestgehend das tragen kann worauf ich Lust habe. Eine bestimmte Arbeitskleidung an die ich mich halten müsste, wäre nichts für mich. Meist wähle ich bequeme Sachen mit ein bisschen Layering zur Wärmeregulierung ;-))) Wie ist das bei euch? Habt ihr eine bestimmte Kleiderordnung auf der Arbeit? Und wenn ja, wie kommt ihr damit klar?

it's again the last monday in month and that means it's time for the Plussize Outfit Day. Oh my god, unbelievable how the time flies. This month's theme is "Show us your stylish work outfit". This was kind of tricky for me, because I wear almost everything also in the office what I show you in this blog. I'm working in marketing and I'm responsible for the companies corporate design. That's rather a creative job position and I'm glad that I mostly can wear whatever I want. How about you? Do you have to follow strike clothing rules at work? And if, how do you feel about that?

Wild weather and rubber boots love

Hallo meine Lieben,
das Wetter spielt im Moment verrückt und man muss eigentlich auf alles vorbereitet sein. Diese "wilden" Gummistiefel habe ich mir während meiner Zeit in New York gekauft, denn wenn es dort regnet kommt man ohne auch nicht mehr aus dem Haus. Immer wenn ich sie trage, fühle ich mich wieder wie ein Kind und ich muss einfach in jede Pfütze und Matsche treten bzw. springen, sehr zum Missfallen von Mr. Curvy :-) Habt Ihr auch Gummistiefel im Schrank und geht es euch damit genauso?

at the moment the weather is crazy and you have to be well prepared for everything. I bought this "wild" rubber boots during my internship in New York. When it's raining there and all the Avenues are flooded, rubber boots are absolute essential and a must-have in very shoe rack. Anyway, every time while wearing these boots, I feel like a little child again and I have to jump in every puddle. Are you also having rubber boots in your closet?

Blue biker

Hi ihr Süßen,
ich bin ein großer Fan von Jacken im Biker-Stil. Diese tolle, blaue Jacke habe ich bereits vor drei Jahren bei Urban Outfitters gekauft. Die Schuhe habe ich mir neu in Berlin gekauft. Sie sind zunächst sehr klassisch im Anzugschuh-Stil, allerdings sind die Laschen stark überschnitten und der schwarze Lack ist irisierend. Ich liebe solche "ein bisschen verrückten" Details. So jetzt geht's essen und noch die letzten Urlaubstage genießen :-)

I'm a big fan of biker jackets. This great blue one I bought three years ago from Urban Outfitters. The shoes I'm wearing are new, bought on my little trip through Berlin. They are classy and appropriate for a suit, but with very interesting and special details. The tongues of these shoes are disproportionate long and the color is iridescent. Well now I'm on my way to a little dinner date and gonna enjoy my last vacation days ;-)
